real moments of the

Western Lifestyle Sessions

The Western way of living is more than a lifestyle. It is a rhythm, a legacy, and a deep connection to the land. As a sixth generation Montanan, this way of life is woven into who I am. I am proud to be raising my three beautiful kids in the country just outside of Cascade, Montana, and I understand firsthand the grit, heart, and quiet beauty that define rural life. From the open spaces surrounding Great Falls to the backroads of Cascade and the rugged country around Wolf Creek, these places hold stories worth preserving. When you book a Western session with me, my goal is to authentically capture what you love and what you do. The early mornings, the dusty boots, the bond between you and your horses or livestock, the character of your land, and the everyday moments that make your ranch or farm feel like home. These sessions are not about posing or perfection. They are about honoring the real work, the real connection, and the legacy you are building with your hands and your heart. Documenting the Western way of life is my way of helping preserve a story that deserves to be seen and remembered. Each ranch, each family, each piece of land carries its own soul, and I approach every session with intention and respect for that story. I want your images to feel honest and timeless, not only capturing memories for today, but creating artwork that reflects your values and way of life. It would be an honor to step onto your land, earn your trust, and tell your story through imagery that may one day hang on your walls as art. Images that remind you where you come from, what you love, and the legacy you are leaving behind for generations to come.

Lil Valley Ranch

One of my favorite creatures on earth is the highlander cow. I mean, can you even resist these cute little fur-balls? Maybe little is not the right word because I must say being next to their massive horns is fairly intimidating. They really are gentle giants and they sure do love to be brushed! The Lil Valley Ranch has been kind enough to allow me some pretty cool opportunities to get up close and personal with their hairy highlanders. This shoot allowed me to capture a little glimpse of their ranch animals and create artwork as well! If you have a ranch with furry friends you've dreamed of capturing or would love to have a day in the life showcasing what you do to use as content and maybe even end up with some beautiful artwork that is personal to your operation, please send me a message! I would love to work with you!

Cascade Branding

Living in a ranch community, you end up having a lot of ranch friends which means finding yourself at a branding during the spring and summer months is inevitable. I was like a kid in a candy store during this shoot because everywhere I set my eyes I found a story to tell. From the leather chaps to the spurs kicked up on the rusty gate, to the tattered working rancher hands gripping the rope ready to lasso the next unsuspecting subject, to the women behind the scenes that are one minute tending to their babes and the next minute saddling up to join the roping team, I feel as if I am truly witnessing a legacy unfold. Montana is so rich in western heritage, hardworking folks and authentic, rural communities and I am so grateful I have opportunities like this to be in the heart of the ranching action.

Kael NFR Jr Rodeo

This talented bronc rider needed some headshots before he headed off to the JR NFR in Las Vegas. Kael was a 2nd year qualifier and he qualified yet again in the Central Region at a JRA rodeo in Montrose, Colorado. He competed in the Senior Saddle Bronc (Age 14-15) at the Junior NFR! It was so much fun spending the morning with Kael even though we could barely feel our fingers from how cold it was! The rodeo grounds were sparkling from the golden sunrise and I was swooning at all the leather, shadows, and fringe I had to work with. It was hard not to shout "Yeehaw!" when we finished up, because it's such a treat when I can go to a shoot and let my creativity fire away.

Dana Ranch Branding

I felt like I just might be on the set of Yellowstone at this local branding. From the authentic cowboys and cowgirls to the picturesque Montana setting, the photo opportunities were endless. I loved seeing the younger kids get right in there unafraid to wrangle those calves or hop on the saddle and toss that lasso like a pro. It was so much fun to take in. And can you blame me for getting a few closeups of their beautiful horses? I'm your gal if you have a branding coming up that you want documented. I just can't get enough of this cowboy culture and these wide open spaces!

Unexplainable Connection

Equine photography session

Burggraff Family

If you ask me, every session should be an equine session. There's just something so spiritually calming when horses are around. One of my best friends asked me to come out to her ranch and just take some pics of her and her family saddling up and going on a ride so she could get some content for her leather working business (see my Collabs - Rustic Edge Leather). I jumped at this amazing opportunity to not only do something for a friend to help her business while spending time with my favorite people, but also to open up an equine portrait session alley in my own! I LOVE when I get to just sit back like a fly on the wall and capture authentic moments like this. Add in that special bond between horse and ride and you are working with gold! The evening even turned gold for us and she was so pleased with the memories and content I captured for her. This is when I can truly say being a photographer is a gift!

Bridget + Kaptain

A maternity session with an equine twist made this one of my most favorite sessions I've ever captured. Bridget wanted to capture not only the love between her and her human babies, but also the love between her incredible Arabian beauties. So, she haltered up her horse "Kaptain Amheirica" which is so fitting because he certainly acted like a captain! I was in awe of his spirit and sleek coat as he ran around in the arena letting his mane whip wildly in the wind allowing me to snap away at all his glory. My favorite moments from this session was the sweet snuggles between Bridget and her beloved black-maned beauty. For more pics of this beautiful momma and her bump check out the Portrait Sessions in my Gallery.

Braedyn + Pete

This senior's love for horses ended her up in the saddle and underneath the puffiest clouds I ever did see. The vast landscape, her beautiful hair whipping in the wind and the majesty of Pete the horse had me swooning! I have to admit it was a little frightening tucking myself down in the grass and signaling for her to gallop straight at me as I tried to get that perfect shot for her gallery. It was all worth it and the only thing I would have wanted more from this session was hopping up in the saddle myself to ride free below the big open skies of this beautiful place I get to call home.

Montana's Wild Horse Sanctuary

"Oh give me a shoot where the wild horses roam and skies are not cloudy all day!" When Jim Jones, the founder of Montana's Wild Horse Sanctuary, invited me to his little slice of heaven to capture his beautiful horses he and his wife rescued, I was extremely grateful at the opportunity! This sanctuary is more than just a haven for their horses, but it's their way of preserving and protecting the spirit of the West. With hearts of gold and a mission to preserve these incredible creatures, I was honored to help capture their story and the love they share for each other and their horses.
